Ileana D'Cruz - Bollywood Debut

Ileana D'Cruz born in August 19, 1987 in Mumbai is a South Indian film actress.She made her Telugu language début through Y.V.S. Chowdhary's Devadasu opposite newcomer, Ram but has also done a Tamil language film and has recently signed a Hindi language film.

Ileana, who originally hails from Mumbai, India, had grown up in Mumbai and currently resides in Goa. Her parents named her name after Ileana from greek mythology.

The film went on to being the biggest hit. She then made her Tamil language film debut alongside Ravi Krishna in Kedi. Although the film did not do so well at the box-office, Ileana was sought after by many directors an actors in Tamil for films which she eventually rejected due to her commitments in Telugu.Recently she acted with Pawan Kalyan in the movie Jalsa . She currently signed a Tamil film opposite Vikram. She also signed a film against Manchu Vishnu Vardhan being directed by YVS choudsry which is tentatively titled as "Saleem".

She is considered as a hardworking and sincere actress. In one of the interviews to a TV channel, Mahesh babu himself praised her talents and co-operation in the sets.

It may have been two children plotting their destiny, but what happens when that dream comes true. That's the story of Drona , told by Goldie Behl and enacted by Abhishek Bachchan. Jaya Bachchan, a witness to the incident that spurred the two 5 year olds to hatch their own story, went into flashback to reveal the tale, "It was on the sets of Pukar in Goa, when Amit ji was shooting with Prem Chopra when the two, that is Goldie and Abhi were thrown out of the sets."

Abhishek quickly butted in, "We two were practicing with the swords that Pa and Prem uncle were using for the film, when some production guy saw us. We were thrown out of the sets." Smiling at the memory, Jaya Bachchan continued, "We were staying at the Taj village. That evening after they were unceremoniously ushered out of the sets, the two sat in the swimming pool and planned to make a film where they could play with swords. I still remember that there was this little island in the middle of the pool and the two, nursing their bruised egos came up with this plan. "

But the actor salutes Goldie's elder sister with all the credit, "Hats off to Shristi, for she actually allowed Goldie to go ahead with the film. And here we are 24 years after we hatched our plan to make a film where we could play with swords, that we actually did. It was no kid's play. We had to work very hard to get the magical adventure genre correct and make it look plausible." Priyanka Chopra who plays the female lead in the film later remarked, "Its like the Lord of the Rings . There is no period or era required to base such a film on and Drona is that." The Last Lear - synopsis of latest bollywood movie

The critics, across the world, have said that this movie is by far Amitabh Bachchan's best movie as an actor. Arjun Rampal and Preity Zinta have also come of age with their performances in the movie.
The film is directed by Rituparno Ghosh and it is said to be based on Utpal Dutt's play Aajker Shahjahan. According to Ghosh, "The Last Lear is the first attempt to take Shakespeare away from the colonial context and place it in an indigenous Indian context and actually transpose it to a film unit."

The Last Lear is the story of Harish Mishra aka Harry played by Amitabh Bachchan an eccentric actor who is brought out of his self imposed retirement by the stubborn director Siddharth (Arjun Rampal) for one last glorious performance.
Harry, however, being a theatre actor detests the cinema. He thinks its an apology in the name of art. When Siddharth finally convinces Harry to work in his film, Harry emerses himself completely in the movie and loves every bit of the film's making. He meets on the sets, Shabnam (Preity zinta) an upcoming actress and teaches her the nuances of acting.
This movie also happens to be Amitabh Bachchan's first English movie and it is bound to take his international fan following higher than ever by breaking the language barriers.

Bollywood news : Court delays Hari Puttar movie release

A court in India has postponed the release of a film entitled Hari Puttar, after complaints from the makers of the blockbuster Harry Potter films.

Hollywood company Warner Bros has filed a lawsuit against all parties involved in the production and distribution of the Hari Puttar film.

It has been quoted as saying the the title of the Indian movie is confusing.

Mirchi Movies, the makers of the Bollywood children's film, have denied the accusations.

It told the BBC that India's Hari Puttar had nothing to do with the Harry Potter wizard movies, to which Warner Bros owns the rights.

Mirchi says that Hari is a popular Indian name, and Puttar means 'son' in Hindi and Punjabi.

The Indian film tells the story of a 10-year-old boy who moves to England with his family and becomes involved in a plan to save the world.

The Indian production house says the name of their film was registered in 2005.

But the legal proceedings mean that scheduled release of Hari Puttar has been postponed.

It was meant to hit cinema halls on Friday, but has now been pushed back to the end of this month.

Warner sues over bollywood latest hari prutter

Harry Potter maker Warner Bros is suing an Indian film company over the title of upcoming film Hari Puttar - A Comedy Of Terrors, according to reports.

Warner Bros feels the name is too similar to that of its world famous young wizard, according to trade paper The Hollywood Reporter.

A spokesman confirmed the lawsuit against Mumbai-based Mirchi Movies.

The case is reportedly due to be heard in Bombay High Court. The film is due to open in India on 12 September.

"We have recently commenced proceedings against parties involved in the production and distribution of a movie entitled Hari Puttar," Warner Bros spokeswoman Deborah Lincoln told The Hollywood Reporter.

"Warner Bros values and protects intellectual property rights.

"However, it is our policy not to discuss publicly the details of any ongoing litigation."

'Unfortunate timing'

Hari is a popular Indian name while Puttar means son in Punjabi.

Hari Puttar, directed by Rajesh Bajaj and Lucky Kohli, stars Zain Khan as Hari alongside veteran Bollywood actor Jackie Shroff.

Munish Purii, of Mirchi Movies, told The Hollywood Reporter: "We registered the Hari Puttar title in 2005 and it's unfortunate that Warner has chosen to file a case so close to our film's release.

"In my opinion, I don't think our title has any similarity or links with Harry Potter."

Two weeks ago, it was reported that the release date for the next Potter film - Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince - had been pushed back by eight months to July 2009.

Warner Bros said the decision had been taken in order to guarantee the studio a major summer blockbuster in 2009.
